Ware to be Back to His Pass Rushing Ways in 2007

DeMarcus Ware will be a force at outside linebacker this year for the Cowboys, and fears about him playing more in pass coverage are not going to happen according to reports. Ware has 19.5 sacks in two seasons with the Boys, and last season in 16 games recorded 71 tackles. Add to that the 58 tackles and 8 sacks he had in his rookie year of 2005, and Ware is already establishing himself as a top linebacker in the NFC.

The Cowboys were toying with the idea of roaming Ware around, and thus dropping him more in coverage. He tended to do that a lot in 2006, taking away his ability to rush the QB. For 2007, the ideas of pass coverage for Ware have been basically tossed out, and he will be back to his old ways of causing headaches for opposing QB’s. A solid season for Ware will give the Cowboys defense a huge lift in 2007.
