Guard Franklin Signs Deal with Cowboys

On Thursday the Cowboys announced the signing of 6-foot-2, 302-pound guard Steve Franklin. The three-year starter at Syracuse was out of football last season after going to training camp with the Chiefs as a rookie free agent. He was released by the Chiefs and was not picked up. The move means that the Cowboys have six guards on their roster, including veteran Andre Gurode, who can play both guard and center.
