ROMO STILL ENJOYING CELEB STATUS

After only a half season as starting QB for the Cowboys, Tony Romo has certainly increased his star power. Recently, he competed in the American Century Celebrity Golf Classic at Lake Tahoe, NV and finished a respecatble 11th place. Along with his other activities of judging beauty contests and being linked to actresses such as Jessica Simpson and now, singer Carrie Underwood, it has been a busy off season for the young quarterback.
However, celebrity status aside, the one positive I and apparently his boss, Jerry Jones, like about him is his ability to still put football first and foremost in his mind. He always states, as he did recently at an interview in Lake Tahoe, “I just enjoy playing the game and let the business guys worry about the rest”, in reference to his recent contract extension negotiations. He has stated he will “play for whatever they pay me” which has got to be encouraging to Mr. Jones and the rest of us Cowboys fans.
Being a player on the Cowboys has always been a high profile position due to the winning traditions and nature of the city of Dallas, but none more so than the position of QB. I have to say it’s quite exciting to see someone grab the headlines once again as Romo has after several years now of only adequate or even below average talent at the helm of “America’s team”.
