Biggest Match Up In the NFC East: Cowboys at Giants

The Giants a tough test

We have been saying it every week just about but this week it really is true. The Dallas Cowboys facing the NY Giants could prove to be the biggest game for the Dallas Cowboys this season. A win here the Cowboy would have a two game lead in the division, a loss here would put them one game behind the NY Giants, as the Giants have the head to head advantage over NFC East opponents.

While the Cowboys are the favorite to win this game, they are only favored by one point. The Cowboys may have won the last game against the NY Giants, but since dropping the first two games of the season, the Giants have shown up as a much improved team winning 6 straight. The Giants offense has been above par in the league and their defense is the league leader in sacks.

If the Cowboys are to win this game against the NY Giants, the offensive line is going to have to show up big. The NY Giants are out to prove that they were really all along the team to beat, and they will be after Romo’s head on every single down. The passing game will have to be on par to get the Cowboys running game going. I know, that sounds backwards, but this has been the case for the Cowboys all season. With the Cowboys facing such a stiff defensive front again Sunday, it’ll likely be true again.

Key players to watch for this game:

The Cowboys will be playing with Tank Johnson for the first time. Everyone seems to be really impressed with his speed and this could be a huge boost for the Cowboys already stout rushing attack. Anthony Henry was back last week, for the first time in several weeks, against the Eagles. His presence will be a huge boost for the Cowboys’ pass coverage unit this week as Eli Manning in crew have been lighting up teams in past weeks, including the Cowboys in week one.

Looks like the Cowboys were favored by one point on Monday, but it was a pick’em on Tuesday. They are again favored by 1.5 points as of today.

  2. Nate Acreman says:

I should not, that those odds are set by Vegas to get people betting.
