Schutt Sports Review
The following is a paid review:
Safety and comfort are at the forefront of thinking for today’s football players around the country, and with the new Schutt ION 4D football helmet, those two areas are at the top of the list. The Schutt ION 4D helmet has many outstanding features that is drawing many rave reviews from players across the country. Starting with the faceguards, the Schutt ION 4D is stronger than others, which means it will last longer and is a better bang for the buck that you would spend on a helmet.
The helmet is already in use by many NFL players, and also boasts a new piece of equipment that has safety at the forefront. The helmet has a faceguard that is actually on the helmet shell, not attached to it. It also has shock absorbing “Energy Wedges” that take away the force of impacts to the faceguard. When checking out this great new helmet, you’ll also notice a new type of cushioning material known as SKYDEX, a better and more modern padding in the helmet that is much better than the old traditional padding. The SKYDEX2 is another type of cushioning that the helmet can use that outperforms traditional foam in every aspect of helmet performance.
A final great advantage to the Schutt ION 4D is that the helmet fits right out of the box. You won’t have to spend hours working it in to place to try and fit you, it fits right away! While players around the NFL are using the helmet, there are 11 top college programs that are active in wearing the helmet, including Virginia, Syracuse, and Penn State.

I ordered a nike clear visor and it did not fit. Footballexpress.com has informed me that no one has a visor to fit this helmet – yet. They are in the works? If anyone knows of one that fits please let me know as well.

i too ordered a nike clear visor
i also ordered a Z leader clear visor
with a lot of work i was able to fit the nike visor under the ION 4D facemask into the correct place.
then i took the Z leader clips and clipped them down the side of the facemask
it fits fine now

doesnt putting a visor on totally destroy the point of the wide angle view you get from the face cage??? cause the edge of the visor, will just be a black line! id wait till someone makes a visor for it, cant be that far away as there is clearly demand…

to fit the visor on the facemask did you just have to loosen the top skrews, pull the facemask out a little and then just force the visor in?
