Cowboys – Packers Game Finally Here!

romo-favre.jpgTomorrow all of the hype and talk will be over, at least after the opening kickoff, and hopefully we will all see the Cowboys come out on top in what will be a very tough, physical battle of two good football teams.

You’ve heard all about Romo and Favre and the comparisons, etc.  You’ve heard about the teams they’ve played to this  point and how they have each done statistically.  And finally, you have been saturated with the history behind the two teams and past match-ups.

Now it’s time to just play the game and let the teams speak for themselves.  A football, as I heard Coach Romeo Crennell say two weeks ago, is an oblong object, and as such, can bounce any number of ways.  This analogy is played out every week in the NFL, as any team can potentially win any game simply by how the ball bounces in many instances.

Now I’m not saying that tomorrow’s game will hinge entirely on luck and the bounce of a football, my point is, which ever team wins tomorrow, the season isn’t over and there shouldn’t be any lingering self-doubts for the other.  I am simply happy that I have satellite TV and not cable.

All of the blogs, articles and concerns of Cowboys’ fans all revolve around certain historical facts, last season’s ending and other facts.  I say, just let ’em play and see where things go from there.  These are both well-coached and talented teams involved in a physical competition that can swing many ways at different times during the contest.

Will the Cowboys’ secondary be able to cover the high-powered receiver corps of the Packers?  Can Dallas establish the run against a tough Green Bay front four?  Can the Cowboys get pressure on Favre to disrupt his passing attack?

These are all very viable and important questions, but the only thing we can do is sit back and watch the game to see if these things unfold before our very eyes.  So with that said, I am going to go with the so-called-experts on this one and pick Dallas simply for the homefield advantage and something that seems to be of a big concern to quite a few of our fans, Nick Folk.  Dallas 27 – Green Bay 24.
