Cowboys Host Eagles, Romo Top Five In Pro Bowl Balloting

cowboys-huddle.jpgThis Sunday afternoon the Cowboys play host to the Eagles at home in the final meeting of the NFC East rivals for the season.  Dallas won earlier in the year in Philadelphia 38-17 and T.O. had a good game.  Sunday, McNabb will be the QB, and rightfully so, for the Eagles as they head into Dallas in what was not a very well-received announcement in Philly.  These have always been some very good football games to watch and this week should be no different.

Dallas can clinch home-field throughout the playoffs with a victory and Reid and McNabb have a lot to prove to their fans.  Combine that with Terrell Owens versus Lito Shepherd and you have yourself the possibility of some good football.  The Eagles are on the far end of a long fence staring in at the playoffs, so Dallas should take care of them once again, but it will probably be another close one for the Boys.

Romo came in fifth in the top 10 NFL Pro Bowl balloting, ahead of teammate Terrell Owens by three positions, the only two Cowboys players in the top 10 of votes.  TE Jason Witten will most likely be one of the top vote-getters also.  The results of the Pro Bowl voting will be announce this Tuesday, the 18th.  I expect a few more Cowboys to reach this year’s Pro Bowl.  At least voted in this year should be OL Flozell Adams and Marc Colombo, and G Leonard Davis and C Andre Gurode just might be there as well.  Defensively speaking, LB’s DeMarcus Ware and Greg Ellis should go and possibly Anthony Henry, but lost time due to injury may have hurt his chances slightly.  The same could be said of Terrence Newman.

In recent activitiy, the news WR Terry Glenn is now running routes is encouraging and the extension of NG/DE Jay Ratliff to five more years at $20.5 million is not a bad thing either.  Things are looking bright for this team as they head into the final three weeks of the season and the post season.  My prediction for Sunday, Cowboys 31 – Eagles 20.
