Williams Appeals One-Game Suspension

Safety Roy Williams will be given a chance today to appeal a suspension handed down by the league.  The NFL suspended Williams for one game without pay on Monday for his illegal horse-collar tackle on Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb in the first quarter of Sunday’s game.  If the suspension is not overturned, Williams will miss this Saturday’s game against the Panthers in Carolina.  Williams has violated the horse-collar rule three times this year and four times in the past two seasons.
