Williams Loses Suspension Appeal; Will Sit Saturday
Posted by Matt Loede on December 20th, 2007 filed in NewsSafety Roy Williams will have to sit out Saturday’s game after all. The NFL denied Williams’ appeal of a one game suspension without pay on Wednesday. Williams was suspended on Monday for his illegal horse-collar tackle on Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb in the first quarter of Sunday’s game. Williams has violated the horse-collar rule three times this year and four times in the past two seasons. He is expected to be replaced by Keith Davis for Saturday’s game against the Carolina Panthers.
