Back To Business For Cowboys As They Prepare For Panthers

tonyromowin_mcnamee.jpgI know there’s been some ongoing buzz about T.O. and Jessica Simpson, etc., but the team has basically gotten back to getting ready for Carolina on Saturday Night, which will be another NFL Network broadcast.   So let’s forget last week, fans, and get ready to watch Dallas finish out the season and clinch home field advantage throughout the playoffs, starting with the Panthers.

Injuries are starting to come into play with C Andre Gurode and S Pat Watkins out for Saturday’s game, and Glenn is doubtful to make his premier for the season.  With Roy Williams also missing this week, there are some issues for the Cowboys on both sides of the ball.  Romo’s thumb is being downplayed as not a big problem and Phillips stated he was practicing strong all day yesterday and today, so hopefully, he will get things going this week.

Canty, Colombo and Fasano were all back for a full practice today also, which is good news as Colombo was one player I felt was overlooked for the Pro Bowl.  I know, we had 11 already, what more do I want, but really, he had a great year and I expect he’ll have other opportunities to get to Hawaii also.

Dallas signed veteran FB Zach Crockett on Wednesday off waivers from Tampa Bay to help out at the depleted position once R Deon Anderson was put on IR for the rest of the season with a torn rotator cuff.  Its not certain if he’ll play this Saturday, but it’s a good pick-up for the team as Hoyte has been injured and missed six games earlier in the year.

In other news, playoff tickets are already sold out, as expected, and the new stadium had the first of over five thousand glass panes installed that are of a similar design to the Louvre in Paris, only bigger.  They are tinted to reflect the same colors as the Cowboys’ helmets, blue and gray.  How awesome is that going to be?  I’ve mentioned the new stadium a couple of times before and I still highly recommend all fans check it out on the home page.
