Giants To Face Cowboys In Divisional Playoff

It’s now official as the Bucs-Giants game just ended with a 24-14 Giants victory.  So it’s third-time around for the Giant-Cowboys with Dallas having swept them in the regular season.  This weekend will require a strong showing by Dallas to win as the Giants have played very well the past two weeks, at home against the Patriots in a close one and now on the road at Tampa.

The Giants defense smothered Garcia the entire game making it very difficult for him to make plays and the offense finally got it going against a tough Tampa Bay defense in the second quarter building a 14-7 lead they never lost.   Manning finished the game with his second highest QB rating to last week’s performance against New England and the running game got going in the second half thanks to the fresh legs of RB Ahmad Bradshaw.

Things are going to be a lot tougher on Dallas next Sunday against this highly-motivated New York team and Romo is going to have to be the one to do it.  The suspect Giants secondary has shown definite improvement since their last meeting when Romo shredded them for big plays and a 31-20 victory at the Meadowlands back in November.  They had a completely healthy Terrell Owens for that game, but no Terry Glenn.  It will be interesting to see this match-up if both of these receivers can be on the field at the same time.

Tomorrow is back to work preparing for the Giants as the Cowboys return from their long weekend, and hopefully T.O. has had enough time to get ready to practice some this week, as I think they are going to need him.  The offensive line has also gotten much healthier and should give Romo the protection he is going to need against that Giants pass rush.
