Source: Cowboys Would Part with Spears and/or Carpenter

The Cowboys are willing to part with two former first-round picks: LE Marcus Spears (2005) and LB Bobby Carpenter (2006).  Spears has been a solid starter but not the playmaker the coaches envisioned.  Carpenter struggles with the physical part of the game and hasn’t gotten on the field.
