According to several media sources, the Dallas Morning News being one which I try to check on a routine basis, reports are that some local players have been invited to Valley Ranch.    Some will count towards the 30-in-house pre-draft invitee list allowed to the Cowboys, some won’t.    S Keith Davis is proported to be contemplating a deal that would send him along that ever-present road to Miami.

Several of the invited players to Dallas are cornerbacks, such as Kansas’ Aqib Talib and Arizona’s Antoine Cason.  Some are players like OU TE Joe Jon Finley, considered “local” players and are exempt from the “30 in-house” rule and can work-out at Cowboys’ facilities for further evaluations.  I wonder why RB Jamaal Charles isn’t included in this list of prospects.  But several quality players are in this list, to include Cal RB Justin Forsett, almost spelled exactly like “Dorsett”, hmmm.

Anyway, this could be an brilliant way to find great young talent for some of our most needed positions at almost bargain prices!

As for Davis, it would be great if Jerry Jones could somehow re-sign him, but it will most likely be impossible money-wise.   Davis deserves a shot to start someplace else and probably will,  wherever he goes.  Jones has to wait and see how Roy Williams performs in training camp and possibly part of this season before he can attempt to spend very much money on another safety.  Patrick Watkins is still onboard, although Davis is a solid performer, he will go at too high a price for Jones to match now.
