Cowboys Draft Board Reveals Only What It Is…List Of Potential CB Draft Picks.

Since the time is getting closer to the actual NFL Draft, the heat is on for making the best prediciton for each team’s selections, but none more than the Dallas Cowboys.  When a cameraman glanced at their board last week he very luckily spotted the probable picks for CB, but it didn’t have round or pick number.  It would be difficult still to say what the Cowboys’ owner will do by then.

But due to all the Pacman Jones hype, I believe it quite likely that Dallas will draft a defensive back with their 22nd pick.  It will depend on who’s still available but the beauty of it will be regardless of whether they sign Jones, everyone of the names on the board were CB/KR’s, or at least decent prospects.

Running back is the next concern, but they will have the flexibility to trade down, if need be, to get a quality RB in this draft.  Oregon’s Jonathan Stewart and Texas’ Jamaal Charles have both visited Valley Ranch, but most say they want Arkansas’ Felix Jones.  Once again, if one of these guys are available at #28, they will take him, but if not, look for them to trade down.  I personally think that they should nab Charles, if available.  He makes more of a compliment to Barber but both Stewart and Jones have better special teams skills.

Most folks believe that the next area to address is wide receiver.   They may take a young WR in this draft, but it isn’t quite the priority that most people think.  The Cowboys have spent several draft picks recently on young WR’s and still have several on the roster.  I think they will draft a WR in either the fourth or fifth rounds, quite possibly Early Doucet or Daniel Amendola of LSU and Texas Tech, respectively.

Isaah Stanback and Miles Austin showed some promise, as did Sam Hurd, so the position isn’t as lacking as it appears.  The biggest thing I’ve noticed regarding Dallas’ perspective is they want an explosive kick returner, or at least someone who could potentially be such.  If you think about all three of these positions, the winner is the one most likely to come closest to that and available at pick #22.

They will most definitely will use their first pick, but may trade down with the second if they get their choice at 22.  Again, that is with or without Pacman Jones.

How about a new graphic at the top of the page? Good riddance to under-performing running backs.
