Jones Deal Unlikely, Cowboys Visit With More Draft Prospects

The possibility of Pacman Jones coming to Dallas is looking dimmer by the day as new rumors have surfaced of him going to New England.  Jerry Jones also stated that it “isn’t feeling like it” in his latest interviews.  He also basically quashed any talk of WR Chris Henry being a potential trade prospect.

WR Limas Sweed out of the University of Texas has been invited to Valley Ranch for talks with the Cowboys as one of many possible draftees later this month.  While Sweed had decent numbers in college and has great size and athleticism, he isn’t a speedster and had injury troubles his senior year.  There are several other young receivers coming in, such as Indiana’s James Hardy, but I still think we have quite a few young receivers in development as it is.

A CB/S with our first pick is still the best bet in my book, followed by a RB with the second pick.  There will be plenty of potential WR’s in later rounds should Dallas and Jerry Jones decide to go that way.

In other news, the final preseason game with Minnesota has been set for Aug. 28 at 7 p.m. at Texas Stadium, leaving only one preseason game to be finalized.
