MSNBC Says Romo Focus on the Cowboys; Not Jessica

Romo and Jessica

Just in case you were worried that Tony Romo had his mind on other things instead of trying to lead the Cowboys to a Super Bowl title – put your mind at ease. In an article on, contributor Ree Hines says that Romo’s focus is going to be on the Cowboys this season, not on perky blonde girl-toy Jessica Simpson, who still gets blamed for some of Romo’s late season meltdown from a year ago.

“Tony has decided to keep Jessica as his girl for now but when the season starts, the pressure is going to get tougher,” a pal revealed to the site. “He’s really enjoyed his off-season — he’s had a lot of fun with Jessica — but now he’s going to have to be very focused. His teammates and coaches don’t want any distractions.”

The gossip world was in a panic about a month ago when it appeared that the romance between Romo and Simpson was over, but don’t fret Giants, Eagles and Redskins fans – it appears the QB’s mind will still at least be a bit on Simpson come the regular season, even though another quote on the site says otherwise. If Simpson wants to come to games, make her buy Cowboys tickets.

“You have to understand, he likes Jessica, but football is his life,” the close source said. “If he thinks his coaches and teammates are taking him less seriously because of Jessica and the whole Simpson clan, she’ll be out.”

That’s interesting, considering that Romo in the media and by many fans has already taken a beating for dating the plastic blonde. Instead of putting the relationship to rest and working on trying to be a better QB and not having these constant distractions, the Romo-Simpson saga looks as if it’s going to continue. Which for Cowboys haters is great news.
