You Can Take it to the Bank: The Only Thing Keeping the Boys from a Ring This Season

As a former TV sportscaster in North Carolina turned banker now, I will from time to time,offer up my “Take it to the Bank” opinions. Rumbling and thoughts that I feel like you can, well, take to the bank!

The Cowboys are loaded this year, we all know this. All-Pros, Pro-Bowlers, Superstars, you name it!

The defensive line is solid, I think Tank Johnson, Spears and company will dominate all year long. The linebackers are some of the best in the business. Ware is a beast and adding Zach Thomas was brilliant!!! The DB’s are deep, Adam Jones will be re-instated and he will make a difference in at least two games. I even think Roy Williams will even cover better this year!

Our kicking game is also one of the best in the league as Nick Folk is just about everybody’s number one fantasy kicker!

The dynamic duo of Marion Barber and Felix Jones will “wow” folks all year long!!! Jason Witten is the best tight end in the game!!! Tony Romo is the best QB in the NFC!!! Terrell Owens is the best WR in the NFC!!!

And that brings me to my “the only thing keeping the Boys from winning it all this year” and that’s the rest of the receiving corps. Now don’t get me wrong, I love Patrick Crayton, he’s a great #3 receiver, but we need another big time threat at WR. A healthy Terry Glenn would have been nice, but that didn’t work out. Hurd, Austin, Stanback and the rest of the young’ens will be okay, but we still need another stud! I don’t even want to think about T.O. missing time!

My remedy to this problem is simple. Remember back in 2000 when we made a deal with Seattle for Joey Galloway. The picks sent to the Seahawks led to Shawn Alexander and Koren Robinson, not too bad for them. I propose a similar deal to say the Panthers for Steve Smith, or the Cardinals for Boldin.
The Steve Smith rumor is interesting, since he’s in a little bit of trouble right now with Carolina. I live in North Carolina, used to cover the Panthers back in the TV days and I love Steve Smith.

So to the front office, I say throw them a #1 pick in next year’s draft and maybe a conditional and gets a deal done soon!

If this plays out, then I can change the title to the article to read “You Can Take It To The Bank: The Cowboys Will Win It All This Season!!!
