Once Again, Dispelling Rumors About Romo

Just a minute ago on the NFL Network and earlier today in both the newspaper and on ESPN’s Sportcenter, it is was again being “overblown” about Tony Romo and the game with the Packers.  For the record, which he himself has created and kept consistent about, Tony Romo never was, or will be, a “cheesehead” or “Favre-lover.”

Tony Romo did grow up in Burlington, WI, not too far from Green Bay, WI, but he has stated many, many times that he only attended one Packers game, was aware that they had a good quarterback named Brett Favre, and , would most likely have pulled for these same Packers against whatever team they were playing when he attended this game. (He doesn’t remember because it was only a preseason game.)

Much like the major media tries to keep the Jessica Simpson distraction farce alive and kicking, they are now back onto the incorrect claim that Romo is returning to his beloved Lambeau field!   As far as Romo is concerned, it’s just one more game he has to perform well in to win.  It may be a legendary match-up and all of the other hype you would like, but for him, it’s just a tough date on the schedule!

Romo did not grow up dying to become a Packer or become the next Brett Favre, in fact, he was admittedly more into hockey than football as a kid.  He also excelled at many sports while in high school and college, such as golf and basketball.  He is extremely good-natured and rare commodity in today’s NFL, a tried-and-true American sportsman!   He enjoys suiting up every week and doing his best to lead his team to victory.

As quoted in an AP article, “I think every week you enjoy the atmosphere,” Romo said Wednesday. “You enjoy where you’re at and what you’re doing and you’re glad to be playing a game, something you love to do for a living. In a sense I enjoy that, but I don’t know that it’s going to be any different because we’re there.

Romo’s stated main concern is getting his team a 3-0 start, not playing in Lambeau or any other falsity created by mainstream media to try to add to the hype already beginning to build for Sunday night’s Cowboys-Packers rematch on NBC at 8:15 p.m. EST.
