Cowboys to Take a Look at Lewis in Free Agency?

With free agency about two and a half months away, there are already some rumblings about teams that will target certain players and try to lure them with some big money. Life long Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis has an interesting decision coming his way, as he will be a free man come March unless he and the Ravens get something done in the meantime.

That leads to the rumor mill that Lewis very well may be heading to Big D – as in Dallas. Just one day after the loss in the AFC Title game to the Steelers, the Baltimore Sun is reporting that Lewis may be on the Cowboys radar as an impact player on defense that could come over and change the attitude of the unit that saw its coordinator fired last week.

The Sun states the following about Lewis: “Word around the NFL is that the Dallas Cowboys are very interested in obtaining Ravens inside linebacker Ray Lewis if he becomes a free agent. The speculation is that the Cowboys are willing to give Lewis a three-year deal worth between $27 and $30 million, with $25 million guaranteed.”

Lewis is getting up there in years, but if the Cowboys can land him, it would be a huge deal for a player that played with a lot of heart this past season getting the Ravens to one step before the Super Bowl.
