It’s no secret that the Cowboys need a better backup QB in 2009 than they had with Brad Johnson in 2008. Today’s Dallas Morning News has a quick tidbit about a player that they may make a run at in 09 – QB Chris Simms:
The Cowboys had internal discussions about trading for Chris Simms last year. He’ll be on the market and ought to come at a reasonable price, and there are several other available backups that would be significant upgrades over 40-year-old Brad Johnson.
Simms didn’t get much of a shot to do anything for the Titans this past season as he was the third QB behind Kerry Collins and Vince Young. He’d be a welcome addition in Dallas.
