Jerry Jones Talks About the Release of T.O.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones spoke out on Tuesday about the release of Terrell Owens, and how it shapes up the future of the Cowboys. Jones spoke out on 105.3 the Fan about the release.

“What it did boil down to was many things,” Jones said, “I had to look at Roy Williams and the future we had with Roy. I’m excited about him . . . we need to really emphasize everything we can, as far as Tony, and our quarterbacking, relative to the skills to Roy Williams.

“It was about Roy Williams, it was about the chance of a Miles Austin. It was an opportunity to see him be everything he can be. It was an opportunity to really move that ball around and give guys like (tight end Martellus) Bennett, not only (Jason)Witten, but Bennett the tight end, and if you will, work out of the backfield with the receiving talent we have . . . we have a lot of places to go with the ball. We needed to be looking to the future.”
