Scout.com is reporting that the Cowboys have re-signed restricted free agent WR Sam Hurd, Scout.com has confirmed. The former undrafted free agent was given a second-round tender and will make a base salary of $1.545 million for 2009. With the release of veteran WR Terrell Owens, Hurd’s role is expected to increase this season.

Wide receiver Sam Hurd signed a one-year, $1.54 million tender with the Cowboys on Monday, according to the team’s official site. Hurd should enter 2009 as the Cowboys’ No. 4 receiver behind Roy Williams, Patrick Crayton and Miles Austin, assuming Austin signs his tender as well.
