Cowboys 09 Schedule 3 Key Moments from NFL.com

The Cowboys will open on the road at Tampa Bay as Raheem Morris makes his debut as Buccaneers coach. The Cowboys feel that they have made an addition by subtraction by releasing Terrell Owens, and will soon find out. Morris would like to start his coaching career on the right note, and a win over the Cowboys would be a star on the report card.

The Cowboys will open their new stadium in Week 2 against the Giants — who will be starting a three-game road trip. The Cowboys were highly successful in the old Texas Stadium — save that last game meltdown against the Ravens — and will look to parlay that to the new 100,000-seat stadium. The Giants, of course, would love to disrupt this Texas-sized house warming.

The Cowboys will welcome the Raiders on Thanksgiving — ending a near four-decade Thanksgiving drought for the Silver and Black. The Cowboys have long hosted games on Thanksgiving and there has been some ground swell of teams looking to cut into that action. But for 2009, the Cowboys should be hosting what promises to be an entertaining game.
