According to the Dallas Morning News, Mack Brown fielded a question regarding Cowboys receiver Roy Williams at the Big 12 media day, and had a strong message. Brown is quoted as saying “I think Williams will have a breakout year, and be as good as any receiver we’ve ever seen.”
He touched on the fact that “he’s been in a tough situation in Detroit”, and last year (regarding the Cowboys) he came in late and didn’t really know the system.”
Coach Brown’s comments are a refreshing change to the normal bashing of the former Pro Bowl receiver, regarding his ability to be a legitimate number one receiver in the NFL. But, comparing him to the greats may be a stretch (at this point in time).
