Jones Stands in Support of QB Romo

The San Antonio Express-News reports that there’s no dobut – Jerry Jones still stands behind QB Tony Romo:

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones remains steadfastly committed to Tony Romo even after his meltdown in Sunday night’s 33-31 loss to the New York Giants. “We have all the confidence in the world in Tony Romo,” Jones said Tuesday on his weekly radio show. Playing before an NFL regular-season record crowd of 105,121 in the opening game for Cowboys Stadium, Romo threw a 1-yard touchdown pass to Jason Witten and ran for another score. But he also had three interceptions, which the Giants converted into 21 points, and a 29.6 passer rating. “You’d like for him not to have a day like that,” Jones told KRLD-FM in Dallas-Fort Worth, “but when everybody is pointing fingers, when it didn’t go good, then you want someone who can walk into that huddle in the next snap at practice, the next snap in the ballgame and walk out there and cut and shoot and play like they just won the Super Bowl. That’s a great quarterback.”
