Cowboys Sign KR Rossum

One day after being released by the San Francisco 49ers, Allen Rossum has found a new deal in Dallas according to NFL.com. Terms of the deal were not released.

Rossum has been in the NFL for 12 years, primarily a return man. Rossum now joins his sixth NFL team after stops in San Francisco, Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Green Bay and Philadelphia. His best years were in Atlanta where he played CB as well as the primary returner.

The Cowboys are looking for help at the punt returner position after WR Patrick Crayton muffed a punt and misplayed two others on Sunday against the Chiefs. Rossum might see some time as a kickoff returner now that WR Miles Austin has earned more time as a receiver.

Rossum is second in NFL history with 14,987 return yards and will hopefully have an impact immediately against one of his old teams when Atlanta comes to Arlington after the bye-week.
