Terrance Newman Added to the NFC Pro Bowl Roster

ESPN reports that the Cowboys have another Pro Bowl player, as Terrance Newman has been added to the NFC Pro Bowl roster:

At least for the moment, the Cowboys have matched the Eagles with seven players on the NFC Pro Bowl roster. Cornerback Terence Newman will make his second appearance in the Pro Bowl after the Cardinals’ Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie dropped out because of an injury. When Donovan McNabb is added to the roster next week, the Eagles will have eight players on the roster. NFC Pro Bowl coach Wade Phillips this morning chose Eagles long-snapper Jon Dorenbos as a “need” player.

Newman had three interceptions, three forced fumbles and 21 pass deflections in ’09. He may have been surpassed by Mike Jenkins in the eyes of a lot of Cowboys fans, but coaches and players around the league have a lot of respect for Newman. After being banged-up for much of the ’08 season, Newman played in all 18 games this season.
