WR Hurd Says He’s Happy Being In and Staying in Dallas

Sam Hurd sounds like he’s happy to be in Dallas these days. Pro Football Talk.com has the following on Hurd, who wants to be in Dallas and be a big part of the rotation at wide out in 2010:

“They are giving me enough reps to prove myself,” Hurd said, per Calvin Watkins of ESPNDallas.com. “I want to play for the Cowboys and my agent knows I love playing in Dallas.”

That’s a change from Hurd’s feeling after the Cowboys drafted wide receiver Dez Bryant, and Hurd’s agent requested a trade. Now Hurd says he just wants to compete, even if the best-case scenario is earning the No. 4 receiver spot behind Miles Austin, Roy Williams and Bryant.

“I’m just working as hard as I can to make sure we have good competition,” Hurd said. “I want the guy ahead of me to get better and the guy behind me to get better.”
