Former Cowboy linebacker Eugene Lockhart Jr. is in jail after failing a drug test while waiting for trail in a mortgage fraud case:
Former Dallas Cowboys linebacker Eugene Lockhart Jr. was taken into custody this morning, accused of violating the terms of his release while awaiting trial in a federal mortgage fraud case. According to authorities, Lockhart apparently failed a drug test that was administered as a condition of his release before trial. He was summoned to the pre-trial release office this morning, where he was taken into custody. He is to appear at 2 p.m. before a Dallas federal judge, who will determine if he will remain in custody until his trial, set for Oct. 18. Lockhart. 49, is charged with conspiracy to commit bank and wire fraud, and aiding and abetting.
