In a quieter move, the Cowboys shipped fifth year tackle Pat McQuistan to Miami for future considerations. McQuistan arrived in 2005 as a seventh round tackle. He showed promise but was never able to crack the lineup. The Cowboys had moved him to guard during the preseason to see if he could become an every position lineman. Evidently, Bill Parcells, who drafted McQuistan, wanted him to join him in Miami and made the trade late Friday.
McQuistan’s move, while not a blockbuster, has been overshadowed by the Cowboys trade of wideout Patrick Crayton to San Diego Friday afternoon.
