The Cowboys have let go of injured FB Deon Anderson to clear some room on the 53 man roster. Anderson, in his 3 years, served primarily as a blocking back and rarely touched the ball. With the emergence of rookie Chris Gronkowski, Anderson was made expendable. Many people thought Anderson was not going to make the team out of camp, but the Cowboys valued his experience before they realized what they had with Gronkowski.
Taking Anderson’s spot is TE Scott Chandler who is expected to be active against the Texans. The Cowboys had only two tight ends on the 53 man roster. Chandler will provide some depth and most likely be active on special teams and goal line situations.
