Four weeks ago, Bryann McCann was on the practice squad. Three games later he has picked up his second player of the week award in a row. McCann won the NFC Defensive Player of the Week award last week after his 101-yard touchdown reception. This week, McCann won the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week award for his “head’s up” 97-yard put return for a touchdown against Detroit. McCann becomes the first player since Troy Aikman (1993) to win an award two weeks in a row.
With the Saints coming up this week it is more than likely that McCann will get a good dose of playing time, both on special teams and defense.
