Cowboys Could Be Interested In Ex-Rams FS O.J. Atogwe?

The Cowboys could be in the market for free agent safety O.J. Atogwe who became an unrestricted free agent on Friday when the St. Louis Rams released him instead of paying him an $8-million roster bonus. According to the Dallas Morning News, the Cowboys need more takeaways from their safeties. A turnover specialist, Otagwe has recorded 21 intrerceptions and 16 forced fumbles since becoming a starter in 2006.

The closest Cowboys in that five-year span is outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware–22 forced fumbles and an interception–and. cornerback Terrence Newman–17 interceptions and four forced fumbles. Atogwe is free to sign immediately with any team before the CBA expires on March 3rd, but the six-year pro will take some time to evaluate his future before making a decision.
