DE Stephen Bowen Hoping To Stay With The Cowboys

Cowboys free agent defensive end Stephen Bowen faces an uncertain future as the defensive system he played in for four years is being overhauled. Complicating Bowen’s situation is that he is unsure if he will be a restricted or unrestricted free agent. The Cowboys gave him a second-round tender worth approximately $1.9 million.

Despite the uncertainty, Bowen has been working with Cowboys teammates trying to learn Rob Ryan’s defense. “There’s nothing I can do,” Bowen told Rainer Sabin of the Dallas Morning News. “Hopefully it works itself out and a player in my position will get a chance to get a second deal. Everybody is trying to get in shape and make sure we learn the defense,” Bowen said.
