Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett recently talked about his star wide receiver, Dez Bryant, to the NFL Network’s Rich Eisen. The media has really put a spotlight on Dez Bryant and his legal issues during this offseason and Garrett was asked if he is concerned that the Cowboys aren’t able to keep an eye on Bryant because of the lockout.
“You know, Dez, like all of our players, is someone we’re concerned about, we care about, and what happens with young players as they transition from the college level to the NFL,” Garrett said. “There’s a transition as a player, but there is also a transition in their life, and they need to understand what it means to be on their own and to be in a professional environment,” Garrett told Eisen.
“We pride ourselves on trying to help our guys with that transition.” It seems the Cowboys have concern for Bryant, but not at higher level than any of their other unseasoned players, he’s just much more high profile. And that includes Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, who recently showed public support for Bryant.
