Fullback Tony Fiammetta is back with the Cowboys less than a week after he was cut by the team. The Cowboys announced Tuesday that they had signed Fiammetta and released receiver Laurent Robinson, who didn’t play in the season opener after joining the team last Wednesday.
After the Cowboys claimed Fiammetta off waivers on Sept. 4, he was cut to make room for Robinson. The 6-0, 242-pound Fiammetta, will serve as a lead blocker and is expected to fill those duties in place of tight end John Phillips, who was used in that capacity last Sunday during the Cowboys’ 27-24 loss to the Jets.
