Rookie FB Shaun Chapas Fined $20,000 For Block

Cowboys rookie fullback Shaun Chapas was fined $20,000 for a blindside block on Arizona Cardinals linebacker Reggie Walker during a punt return last Sunday, Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas reports.

Archer adds that Chapas plans to appeal the fine.

A seventh-round pick (220th overall) out of Georgia in last April’s draft, Chapas signed a four-year contract with the Cowboys that included a signing bonus of $56,852. Chapas did not make the team’s 53-man roster and has spent much of the season on Dallas’ practice squad, earning $5,700 in non-guaranteed base salary per week.

On the active roster, Chapas is earning a $375,000 base salary, which is comprised of weekly game checks worth $22,059 before taxes
