Jerry Jones fully supports Jason Garrett

Owner Jerry Jones is obviously disappointed that the Cowboys are in the midst another December tailspin that currently has them out of the playoffs but he said that Jason Garrett’s job is safe, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telgram.

It was the fifth time this season that the Cowboys have lost after leading in the fourth quarter, including the third time that they blew a lead of 12 or more points.

“I would have liked to have closed it out right now,” Jones said. “If we won the last to games, that would have happened.”

Add in the fact that coach Jason Garrett’s nine losses since taking over as head coach midway through last season including eight times in which the Cowboys blew a fourth quarter lead, it has been speculated that Jones might make a coaching change if they didn’t right rally and make the playoffs.

Jones shot down that notion on Tuesday.

“That is not a question worth responding to,” Jones said before adding. “The answer is no. We are just getting started here.”
