Romo, Cowboys notch much-needed win in Tampa 31-15

Tony Romo found each of his three top wide receivers for scores and capped off a 28-point first half with a touchdown run of his own, as the Cowboys easily put away the Bucs in Tampa Bay 31-15 on Saturday night.

Romo was 23-30 with zero interceptions and Felix Jones went over 100 yards on the ground for the second straight game.

The Cowboys received a strong performance from their defense, which allowed only 190 totals yards of offense.

America’s Team was equally as effective on offense, converting 7 out of 13 third down opportunities.

The offense had 28 first downs compared to only seven by Tampa Bay.  This was made possible by a defense that held the Bucs to four straight three and outs after forcing a fumble on their opening drive to start the game.

Newcomer running back Sammy Morris had 12 rushes for 53 yards in his Cowboys debut.

DeMarcus Ware recorded another sack, giving him 16 quarterback slams on the year.

Overall, it was a well-executed game played by both sides of the ball and it was a calming end that saw Romo and the gang run out the clock – attempting 37 carries and holding the rock for nearly 38 minutes on the night.

The 8-6 Cowboys host the Philadelphia Eagles next week in Dallas, before heading to the Big Apple to finish the regular season with the Giants.
