Cowboys Offensive Guard Montrae Holland Suffers Torn Biceps

Dallas Cowboys left guard Montrae Holland has a partially torn left biceps, Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas reports.

The injury, which occurred during the fourth quarter of Saturday’s 20-7 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, could keep Holland out of next Sunday night’s pivotal game against the New York Giants that will decide the NFC East.

Holland started four of 21 games for the Cowboys over the 2008-10 seasons and was released by the club at the end of training camp. Dallas re-signed Holland in October after rookie Bill Nagy suffered a season-ending ankle injury.

Holland has started the last 10 games at left guard and has played a role in the Cowboys averaging 133.4 yards per game on the ground over that stretch. If Holland is unable to play against the Giants, veteran Derrick Dockery, fourth-round pick David Arkin or undrafted center/guard Kevin Kowalski would start in his place.
