Jimmy Johnson Gives Props to Tony Romo

Twenty years years after coaching the Cowboys to the 1992 season’s Super Bowl championship, former Cowboys coach Jimmy Johnson said he believed the Cowboys would have won last year’s NFL title if only they had made the playoffs by beating the Giants in last season’s finale, Barry Horn of the Dallas Morning News reports.

Jhnson said Tony Romo “catches more undeserved abuse” than any player in the NFL.

“The guy is a great quarterback,” Johnson said. But he won’t win acclaim until he leads the Cowboys to a Super Bowl title.

“You’ve got to win a ring to get it done,” he said. “I think Romo can get it done. I love Tony Romo.”
