Dunbar and Olawale Round Out Cuts

The Cowboys got their roster down to 53 players today when they first announced 21 players that received their notice this afternoon and then a few hours later, cut the remaining two players to get to the roster maximum.

The final two cuts were both undrafted rookie running backs, Lance Dunbar and Jamize Olawale. Both backs had impressive displays during camp and their limited opportunities of the preseason. Olawale, a converted receiver to fullback and then running back, carried the ball for the 2nd and 3rd teasers. Dunbar caught some eyes in his preseason debut against the Dolphins when he ripped off a very impressive 58-yard touchdown run and rushed for 105 yards on 15 carries.

It is thought both players may try to be added to the practice squad if they clear waivers. Chances are slim that Dunbar will make it, but with all 32 teams cutting players there may be a slim chance they both slip through.
