DeMarco Murray’s Status for Sunday Up in the Air

After missing two games with a sprained foot, Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray might need another week to recover and is uncertain for Sunday’s game against the undefeated Falcons in Atlanta, Calvin Watkins of ESPN Dallas reports.

“We’ll just have to see,” Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said Monday. “It seems like he’s moving around a little bit better. Again, that’s an injury you have to be patient with. We don’t want to rush him back, then take any backward steps. We’ll see how he is day by day this week.”

Murray did not play in Sunday’s 29-24 loss to the Giants, but owner/general manager Jerry Jones had expressed optimism that his starting running back was close to returning after the Cowboys managed only 19 yards on 17 carries.
