Leave it to Cowboys owner Jerry Jones to take a perfectly good weekend and draw some attention to himself.
The always ready to make a comment Jones is speaking out again about a NFL team playing full-time in London – and once again he is giving support to it.
Pro Football Talk wrote about it Saturday afternoon, and had some comments from Jones after he was asked by Sky Sports if he thinks the NFL will have a London-based franchise.
“I think that’s very possible, yes, and I’m very much for it,” Jones answered.
The Cowboys will play a game in London in 2014, and that could change the owners mid once he sees how much work goes into the process and the toll it takes on his team to play a game overseas.
Of course the game is against the Jaguars, to which on paper the Cowboys would be favored.
“We’ve got a lot of really great Dallas Cowboys fans in London,” Jones said. “These games will be a good indication of the type of support that we could have there but London is one of the few cities, I think, outside of the United States that would be a great city internationally for the NFL.”
Again, let’s see how the tune changes this fall after the Cowboys play the game in London, and if they come out on the short end of the stick.
