Cowboys Top Eagles 20-10; Lose QB Romo to Broken Clavicle

Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles

The Cowboys may have won Sunday over the Eagles 20-10 in Philadelphia, but at the end of the day, may have lost the war.

A week after losing star wide out Dez Bryant to a broken foot, they have now lost quarterback Tony Romo.

The QB suffered a fractured left clavicle and will miss a number of weeks. He will undergo further tests on Monday.

‘I’ll be back,” Romo said. ”It’s going to take a little bit of time. It’s a broken bone. It is what it is. Our team played great. I’m proud we got this win. It’s not an easy place to come in and win. We’ll hopefully get a few more and we’ll get ready to go.”

Romo suffered the injury with 9 minutes, 44 seconds left in the third quarter when he was driven into the ground on a 6-yard sack and fumble by linebacker Jordan Hicks. Romo immediately grabbed for his left shoulder and went straight to the locker room for X-rays.

Hicks landed on Romo’s left shoulder on a second-and-11 play. It was the third sack of Romo in the game. Brandon Weeden took over at quarterback for Dallas on the next offensive series.

The team turned to backup Brandon Weeden, who will now be called upon to lead the team. He is 5-16 as a starter, including 0-1 for the Cowboys. He finished 7 of 7 for 73 yards.

As for the game, Kyle Wilber returned a blocked punt 26 yards for touchdown, and Weeden threw a 42-yard touchdown pass to Terrance Williams as the now 2-0 Cowboys overcame a franchise-record 18 penalties in their 10th consecutive road win.
