Cowboys CB Orlando Scandrick Not Likely to Play Against Bengals

Cowboys cornerback Orlando Scandrick was held out of practice Thursday after practicing in a limited basis on Wednesday, making it more likely that he misses his third consecutive game with strains in both hamstrings, Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

Scandrick said every time he feels good and starts to do a little more, he has a setback of sorts.

“It’s about getting me healthy,” Scandrick said. “It’s not about getting me to Sunday. That ship has sailed. I feel like I’m going to get better. It’s just been where I start of feel better and you do a little more and start to feel it. I would love to practice every day. We have to take this day by day and hopefully it will get better. We’ve got a plan in place.”

Scandrick, the team’s defensive player of the year in 2014, missed all of last season when he tore the anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments in his right knee. He was brought back slowly in training camp before initially injuring his hamstring in the season opener against the New York Giants.
