Who Would the Cowboys Use the Franchise Tag on If Needed in 2020?

USA Today has released an interesting article regarding the ever unpopular (at least for players) ‘Franchise tag’ and how team’s may use it in 2020.

It seems like every team has an option to use the franchise tag, which stops a player from even negotiating with outside teams and forces them to stay put.

Here’s what the article has to say about the Cowboys, who they say could franchise a couple players – including QB Dak Prescott or even WR Amari Cooper.

Doesn’t appear a deal’s in sight for QB Dak Prescott, but don’t expect America’s Team to invite disaster, either. He’ll get the exclusive tag. Pending labor talks, that means Dallas could transition WR Amari Cooper. And with more than $70 million to play with, it’s even possible the Cowboys keep DB Byron Jones, though he’s probably the least likely of this trio to return.
