Cowboys Closer To Full Staff; Hire Baker

The Cowboys have hired former Carolina Panthers assistant Brian Baker as their new defensive line coach.  Baker who had spent the last two seasons with the Panthers, found himself out of work at the end of this season when head coach John Fox was let go.  With his future in doubt, Baker signed on to coach at the University of North Carolina before the Cowboys came calling.  Baker was with UNC for only a month before now leaving to join the Cowboys.

Baker has coached in the NFL with Detroit, Minnesota, and San Diego before joining Carolina.  Baker will help, new defensive coordinator, Rob Ryan install his version of the 3/4.  He will also look to get all he can out of the Cowboys defensive line, which struggled at times this past season.

Baker will hope to get DT Jay Ratliff back to his form from a year ago, and also put pressure on Marcus Spears if he is retained for next season.

The Cowboys still have the receivers coaching position available and there is a rumor that they are looking to add another coach at an undisclosed position.
