Source: Cowboys sign journeyman CB Frank Walker

Free agent veteran cornerback Frank Walker has signed with the Dallas Cowboys, Marc Lillibridge of National Sports Agency announced via Twitter.

Cowboys corner Terence Newman (groin) missed Sunday night’s season-opener against the Jets and could be in danger of being sidelined this week’s contest on the road against the 49ers. The Cowboys are already without CB Orlando Scandrick for up to four weeks with a high ankle sprain.

A 2003 sixth-round draft choice out of Tuskegee by the New York Giants, Walker has produced 156 tackles, eight picks and 26 passes deflections in a 93-game journey with the Giants, Green Bay Packers, Baltimore Ravens and Minnesota Vikings.

The 30-year-old Walker went to training camp with the Tennessee Titans, registered six stops in four games during the preseason before he was released on September 3. Walker worked out for the Cowboys earlier on Tuesday.
