Cowboys Pass Rusher Randy Gregory Facing Even Longer Suspension

It is sounding more and more like the Cowboys will not have the services of second-year pass rusher Randy Gregory for a good portion of the 2016 season.

Gregory was suspended four games for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy back in February, and today it came out that he’s facing a longer ban after failing another test.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Todd Archer reported the news on Twitter today.

Gregory’s representatives are still working on the appeal of his potential 10-game suspension and he has entered an undisclosed treatment facility and is not expected to report to training camp this week with the team, a league source told ESPN’s Ed Werder. Whether he will participate at all is uncertain.

Cowboys coach Jason Garrett on Tuesday declined comment when asked about Gregory.

Not good news for the young player, as well as for the Cowboys who were hopeful that he would get his life turned around. It sounds like he could miss up to 10 weeks of the season from all indications.
